[Go 1.25 Release Candidate 1](https://groups.google.com/g/golang-announce/c/dlbl6lgfVX0/m/aD6Br_YFBgAJ) — The final release of Go 1.25 isn’t till August, but the Go team is confident enough to issue the first RC now. The only _language_ change is the removal of the notion of core types [as explained by Robert Griesemer recently.](https://go.dev/blog/coretypes) There’s plenty going on behind the scenes, though, like the [new experimental garbage collector](https://github.com/golang/go/issues/73581) and changes to both `GOMAXPROCS` and the generation of debugging information.

[The Draft Go 1.25 Release Notes](https://tip.golang.org/doc/go1.25) — Go 1.25 RC1 has landed today but the release notes for the final release are already being worked on in advance and make for a handy reference to what you can expect.

[Why I'm Excited About Go for Agents](https://docs.hatchet.run/blog/go-agents) — If you view agents as (mostly) stateless tasks running in a loop, then Go’s concurrency model and use of Context make the language nearly perfect for developing them. Plus, Go’s excellent profiling story means you’ll be able to chase down any memory or thread leaks.

**IN BRIEF:**

- [Go 1.24.4](https://go.dev/doc/devel/release#go1.24.4) and [1.23.1](https://go.dev/doc/devel/release#go1.23.minor) have been released.
- GitHub's CodeQL code scanning [can now access private dependencies](https://github.blog/changelog/2025-06-10-private-registries-for-go-codeql-scans/) stored in private registries on Go projects.
- Datadog user? They've [released v2.0 of their Go tracer](https://www.datadoghq.com/blog/go-tracer-v2/) which offers significant improvements.

🛠 Code & Tools

[go-redis 9.10: The Official Redis Client for Go](https://github.com/redis/go-redis/releases/tag/v9.10.0) — A significant release for one big reason. [Redis 8.0](https://redis.io/blog/redis-8-ga/) was recently released and as well as [becoming open source again](https://redis.io/blog/agplv3/), the popular data structure store now supports _vector sets_ and vector similiarity search. My experiments with this feature have been very promising and go-redis now has experimental support for vector sets too. [Main docs site.](https://redis.uptrace.dev/guide/go-redis.html)

[Raylib-Go-Wasm: Raylib Go Bindings for the Web](https://github.com/BrownNPC/Raylib-Go-Wasm) — [Raylib](https://www.raylib.com/) offers an easy way to create videogames, including from Go, but its Go bindings haven’t supported Go’s abilities to target the Web platform till now (like [Ebitengine](https://ebitengine.org/), say, does). It’s still in its early stages and the author wants help and feedback, but some readers are sure to find this useful.
