[Type Construction and Cycle Detection](https://go.dev/blog/type-construction-and-cycle-detection) — A Go compiler engineer explains a corner of the type system that was improved in Go 1.26. The type checker now detects when an incomplete type is used in a way that requires it to be fully defined, turning what could have been a panic or confusing error into a clean cycle error.

**IN BRIEF:**

- 📊 Christoph Vilsmeier's [long running Go SQLite driver benchmarks](https://github.com/cvilsmeier/go-sqlite-bench) have just updated to Go 1.26 and now include the [wasm2go-powered version](https://github.com/ncruces/go-sqlite3/releases/tag/v0.33.0) of [ncruces/go-sqlite3](https://github.com/ncruces/go-sqlite3).
- JetBrains has released [GoLand 2026.1](https://blog.jetbrains.com/go/2026/03/26/goland-2026-1-is-released/), the latest version of its commercial Go IDE. It introduces guided syntax updates for Go 1.26 and support for git worktrees.
- Go 1.27 will fix a generic type inference gap ([addressed in this just-accepted proposal](https://github.com/golang/go/issues/77245)). `S{f: g}` will finally work anywhere `s.f = g` does.
- ⚠️ [CVE-2026-4427](https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-4427) is a high-severity DoS vulnerability in pgproto3, the library behind [pgx](https://github.com/jackc/pgx), the popular Go Postgres driver ([upgrade to 5.9.0+](https://github.com/jackc/pgx/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#590-march-21-2026)).

[We Rewrote _JSONata_ in Go with AI and Saved $500K/Year](https://www.reco.ai/blog/we-rewrote-jsonata-with-ai) — [JSONata](https://jsonata.org/) is a JSON query and transformation language whose reference implementation is in JavaScript. The team at Reco made a Go port, called [gnata](https://github.com/RecoLabs/gnata), and significantly reduced their compute costs.

[go-sqlite3 v0.33.0: A cgo-free SQLite Wrapper](https://github.com/ncruces/go-sqlite3/releases/tag/v0.33.0) — Till this release, `ncruces/go-sqlite3` used a WebAssembly build of SQLite behind the scenes, but now uses [wasm2go](https://github.com/ncruces/wasm2go) to translate _that_ entirely into Go. This is still a _pre-release_ but the first impressions are promising and [Nuno seeks your feedback.](https://github.com/ncruces/go-sqlite3/discussions/361)
