Go 1.8 is now scheduled to be released Feb 14th/15th/16th. One of those days, depending on cbro's availability. We want to get a couple more weeks of testing inside Google.
But the Go 1.9 tree still opens Feb 1st. (After some branches get merged.) We'll announce when the floodgates are considered open.
